LUNACY "Universal Pressure" EP

New on DEDSTRANGE: Pennsylvania’s industrial darkwave monk LUNACY unleashes the UNIVERSAL PRESSURE EP—five seething tracks of sinister pain and joy which find the rural dystopian shadow figure slithering along the fault lines between catharsis and collapse.

On the heels of the recent success of full-length ECHO IN THE MEMORY, comes a vivid new dimension of static energy with UNIVERSAL PRESSURE. LUNACY injects a grisly and downtrodden hybrid of darkwave, industrial and post-punk with pounding, pessimistic nihilism without ever losing sight of the burning bridges lighting the path towards better days.

“THIS IS THE END” spews synthetic bile from the speakers with all the subtlety of a fiery stream of pressurized fracking waste. Crushing synth drones obliterate the bitstream before being hijacked by howling bursts of static and noise, fragments of forgotten melody flickering in and out like isolated pirate radio broadcasts.

On “UNIVERSAL PRESSURE,” the shadow figure warps sheets of noise like overgrown and abandoned railroad ties. Meditative synth pads, dense like old growth, line the sonic landscape. The shadow figure wanders in seclusion; salvages memory from the scrap.

“BEYOND THE LIGHT” pushes past ruination and collapse, through the sinking feeling and into eternal fire. The shadow figure emerges and sings - whose baritone rings through smoke and fog, heavy and thick. Around Lunacy, grainy lo-fi guitars crumble, wither and rot.
