Lizard Skin "Desperations"

Lizard Skin is a four-piece consisting of Dillon Morton, Mark Arciaga (Puerta Negra), Susan Subtract (High-Functioning Flesh, Physical Wash), and Just Dave (Railing, Rotties, Over, Nux Vomica) from Portland, Oregon. With snarled hooks, barking vocals, and an ever-frantic pulse, the band explores the weight of the human condition in their music, drawing heavily from traditional deathrock while honoring the legacy of the Pacific Northwest sound.

Lizard Skin returns three years after their last EP Roadside with their first full length release. With an expanded line-up and a marked departure from electronic drums and synthesizer use, Desperations demonstrates a potent evolution in style and songwriting that is both rich and sparse. Uneasy groove and growl from the bass, tense and desolate twang from the guitar, fevered and rabid emphasis from the vocals, all upheld by powerful yet beat driven drums: Desperations is an exercise in decadence and restraint.
